Agriculture, Gardening and Local Food Production - A Community Survey

Residents of the Town of Harbour Main-Chapel’s Cove-Lakeview are invited to participate in this community survey.

Purpose:

To document residential and community food production and to start a conversation about opportunities and concerns residents may have about various agricultural activities within the community and how best to address them.

Who is leading this survey?

Council has requested Dr. Nicholas Fairbridge, who is a member of the Town’s Recreation Committee, helping with the community garden, and a community researcher and scholar, to collect and report on this community survey.


What we are asking you to do:

We invite you to complete this anonymous survey either online as noted below or by paper copy returned to the Town Office or Drop Box.


Length of Time:

This survey may take up to 20 minutes if you are deeply involved or interested in local food production, or as little as 5 minutes for most households.


Confidentiality and Anonymity:

This survey will not request identifiable personal information. Any public reports or communication related to this data will be reported only as summarized or grouped information. Every reasonable effort will be made to ensure your anonymity. This survey will be collected anonymously and will not ask for your name or personal information.

Reporting of Results:

A summary of results will be made available to Town Council, to the Recreation Committee, and to the public. Only summaries will be reported and no direct quotes or individual responses will be disclosed to council or to any other request.
